We believe in hard work, faith,

and family

It’s time to plan your big day and choose a venue.

We are a small, family owned barn wedding venue located in Macclesfield, North Carolina. Nestled in the back corner of our working family farm, The Farmer's Daughter at Walston Pond overlooks an eight acre pond, creating a beautiful setting as well as a backdrop for stunning photos. Tucked miles away from the city lights, you'll enjoy the relaxing and calming sounds of the North Carolina countryside. Our peaceful setting creates a relaxed atmosphere that doesn't demand anything of you, it's a place to unwind and reconnect with family and friends.

We know with so many venue options, it’s hard to know which to choose.

We know you have many options when it comes to choosing your wedding venue and it can be super hard to choose. You want to make sure you’ll be taken care of, that your guests have fun, that there are procedures in place all so you can have the peace of mind to enjoy your big day.

In other words you want a venue with people you can trust.

We believe...

hard work

Hard work pays off

and we work relentlessly for our clients to ensure they are comfortable and at complete ease on their big day. This is why we have an on-hand coordinator for those clients who do not have a planner.

02.

family is everything

family is everything

Our venue is on a property that has been in our family for generations. It is currently a working farm. We also know that your wedding day is the start of YOUR family and we are honored to be a part of that.

03.

faith

faith is foundational

We are Christians who believe in the power of prayer. The actual foundation of our venue has verses scribbled on poles throughout to serve as a daily reminder of God’s love.

Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

The Farm Fam

We’re Wayne & Susan Rae Robbins, the proud owners of The Farmer’s Daughter at Walston Pond. Together with the help of our family, close friends, and some amazing builders, we designed, built, and care for TFD. We are a blended family with four amazing kids and one precious little grandson.

Building a wedding venue wasn’t something we had planned on doing, but God definitely had other plans for us! The idea began one day during a kid’s fishing tournament held at the pond every year. What started out as a suggestion from a friend, quickly turned into a series of conversations focused on owning a barn venue. After praying, seeking God’s will, and receiving confirmation, construction began on The Farmer’s Daughter at Walston Pond.

TFD is family owned and operated, which means we put a tremendous amount of pride and hard work into creating an affordable and beautiful venue to help make your wedding and event dreams come to life. From managing a website and marketing, to everyday maintenance, we are involved in every aspect of the business. From the moment you contact us, to the day of your event, we, along with our amazing team, will be with you every step of the way. If you’re looking for down to earth, friendly people who genuinely care about you and your event, then you’re at the right place. We can’t wait to meet you and watch you fall in love with The Farmer’s Daughter at Walston Pond.

Our Brief History

It’s still a working farm today where we harvest grain crops.

Our farm was established in 1985 by Allen and Kay Walston.

Founder Susan Rae grew up on the farm and had daily tasks like puttin' in tobacco.
